Reboot or No Turn off When on Docking Station
Posted in Computer Operating System Support by manyuAsk: when I put my T61 (6457-BBG) on the Docking Station and do a Reboot or Shutdown in Windows 7, the Laptop doesn’t turn off. The Monitor gets black and has no connection and the red LED on the Docking Station is turned on, that I should not disconnect the Laptop from it. Then I need to press the Power-Button for 4s so that the Laptop turns off. I just discovered that when I turn the laptop to Sleep, it afterwards can do a normal Reboot or Shutdown.
When the Laptop is not connected to the Docking Station, everything is fine, too. Maybe you can help me, on Vista this Problem didn’t exist.
Re: A USB device may prevent the computer from shutting down. You may want to try disconnecting everything connected to the docking station and see if that makes a difference.
I had some initial problems on my T400s system. But it seems to have gone away with the latest drivers. So if you have not already you should check that you have the latest drivers.
